Writing Contest - 7th Grade Winner
All about me!
My name is Matilde and my surname is Vieira. I’m twelve years old. I’m from Portugal, so I’m Portuguese.
My daily routine is very simple. I like waking up early, at eight o’clock. I get up immediately and then I have a shower. After breakfast I brush my teeth, make my bed and do my homework. I usually have lunch at home, because I live near the school and classes only start at twenty to two on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays classes start at five to ten. I always go to school by car with my mother. I study at EB 2, 3 Dr. José Domingues dos Santos. It´s a great place! I love studying and meeting my friends there!
We have a lunch break from twenty past twelve to twenty to two. In the afternoon we have two short breaks of only ten minutes. Classes finish at half past six. My favourite subject is PE. I have got it on Tuesdays and Fridays.
After school I have roller skating practice until eight o’clock.
I always have dinner with my parents and my brother. Finally, I go to bed at about ten o’clock because I really like to sleep!

Will technology make our lives better in the future?
Will technology make our lives better in the future? You’ve probably asked yourself this question before and so have I. For me, technology will really make our lives better in the future.
Firstly, we can keep in touch without limitations using technology. If you want to talk with a friend or a relative that is far from you, you can do it only using your phone or many other devices (a laptop, a tablet,...). Therefore, technology helps your relations.
Secondly, technology can be really helpful. With a click, you can search something to work, order food or buy products. Besides, we use machines to make things, to move and to work.
Finally, technology is really entertaining. If you want to listen to music, you can do it on a stereo or an MP3 player, if you want to watch a film, you can do it with a DVD player or if you want to play a game, you can do it with a games console. As a result, you never get bored and you can always have a great time.
In conclusion, technology will really make our lives better in the future. In fact, if we look around, we can see that already happening.
